The 43rd International Biennial Meeting of the EHASO was held at the Meritage Resort and Spa between November 1 through 5, 2019 in Napa, California. The meeting was hosted by Angle Northern California and was dedicated to the memory of the late Dr. Robert Isaacson. Dr Isaacson was an icon within the Society and a long term editor of The Angle Orthodontist. Attendees and their spouses enjoyed sunshine and warm temperatures in classical wine country. The meeting began with a lecture which described the history of the Napa Valley, including the evolution of its reputation as one of the world’s leading wine producers.

Best paper award of Angle East

Carroll-Ann Trotman and Scott Conley
Angle East members Ambra Michelotti and Carroll-Ann Trotman treated the audience to their superb papers on topics of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and restoring function after facial paralysis and cleft repair.
Discussers of papers from other components were David Musich, Peter Ngan and Bill Northway. Angle East was well represented both in attendance as well as at the podium. A total of twelve members from our component attended.
The meeting also honored Northern California component veterans Gary Baughman, Sheldon Baumrind, Robert Boyd, Harry Hataska, Gerald Nelson, and Ib Nelson.

James Vaden
David Hatcher was inducted into the Society as an Honorary Member and provided an excellent lecture on diagnosis of facial asymmetry.
Dr James Vaden provided an editorial lecture “The Sun’ll come Tomorrow.”

There was an array of social activities for both members and spouses, including a wine tasting session at the local Artesa Winery, a golf outing, bike tour, and cooking class.

44th EHASO Biennial Meeting
This meeting provided ample opportunity for us to promote the 44th EHASO Biennial Meeting, which will be hosted by our own component at the Wentworth By the Sea in New Castle, New Hampshire between September 21-25, 2021. Thanks go to Kate Greco for assembling 168 beautifully tagged favor bags that were distributed by several of our members. The favors became an instant success as they heralded the 2021 meeting.
